Coverguard technological properties and standards:

When you're doing your job, it's essential to comply with current safety standards to protect yourself from the risks you're exposed to. It's important that you choose a type of safety trainer that's suited to your job and the demands of everyday life. To do this, you need to carry out a workstation analysis beforehand to identify all the risks inherent in your job.

Standards for Coverguard safety trainers:

To help you choose the most suitable safety trainer, we've outlined some of the standards you'll find on Coverguard safety trainers:

  • All our safety trainers comply with the current EN ISO20345 standard:
Coverguard safety trainers are available with an 1100N anti-perforation sole, which can be either steel or composite textile.
All our safety shoes are fitted with a 200J protective toe cap which can be either non-metallic in Composite, metallic in Steel or Aluminium), in compliance with current safety standards.
  • Non-slip sole standards: All our safety trainers are fitted with slip-resistant soles. In detail, our safety trainers can meet 4 different standards: SRA, SRB, SRC and SR. These standards define the level of performance depending on the type of surface and environment. For example, the SRA certified sole prevents slipping on a ceramic floor to which detergent (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) has been applied, while the SRB corresponds to a test on a steel floor on which oil (Glycerine) has been applied. The SRC sole indicates that the product has passed the SRA and SRB tests.
  • HRO standard: The HRO standard ensures that the sole is resistant to contact heat up to 300°C, ideal for demanding industrial environments. These are nitrite soles that do not melt on contact with heat.
  • ESD (Electrostatic Discharge): Some of our safety trainers also comply with the ESD standard. This means that they are designed to ensure excellent evacuation of the electrostatic charge accumulated throughout the day. ESD footwear is ideal for use in so-called EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area) zones.
  • COVERPERF labels: This is a Coverguard speciality that enables us to attest to the expertise and performance of our products. Among the 9 COVERPERF labels, you'll find ‘cushioning’, which certifies absorption of more than 25% of the force of impact at heel level. This label makes it possible to identify the footwear best suited to preventing the risk of MSD (musculoskeletal disorders) by limiting the transmission of shocks to the joints and spinal column.

How do you choose safety trainers for your job?

Craftsmen and tradesmen: For professionals in the construction industry (craftsmen and tradesmen), choose our high-top trainer for extra ankle support to reduce the risk of sprains.
Logistics: Our low-top trainer is perfect for logistics workers, offering lightness, flexibility and breathability. Mostly used for indoor activities, certain models specific to the logistics sector are categorised as S1P, which means they are more breathable.
Industry: For industrial environments, choose our models with non-slip, heat-resistant soles. For these professions in particular, Coverguard offers pairs of S3 safety trainers developed with improved water and oil repellency.

How do we choose the right size for our safety trainers?

At Coverguard, we want to develop products that are available to everyone. That's why our products are available in sizes 35 to 49. To choose the right size for your safety trainers, we recommend that you measure your feet at the end of the day, when they are most swollen: this will help you choose the best size.
